hey my friends! it's me betty who!

do you want to know HOW TO WRITE A SONG?! do you want to hear me BREAK DOWN MUSIC AND LYRICS? are you a beginner? have you written 100 songs and are just looking for some community to get real nerdy with? do you not really care about songwriting for yourself but think it might be fascinating to hear about the process?

there are so many pieces that go into creating something out of nothing. that’s why i am launching my first ever SONGWRITING COURSE! over 5 weeks we’ll explore song structure, some of my favourite songs from my favourite songwriters, plus we might even break down an unreleased song from my new album!! 😏

songwriting is one of my greatest passions and i am so excited to spend some time with you all, digging in. you could walk away with a brand new song you wrote — and whole new understanding of the music around you every day.

hope to see you there! — bw

FAQ

  • Who is this course for?

Anyone interested in how Betty Who writes songs. Beginner, intermediate, and advanced songwriters welcome.

  • What do I need?

There are many ways to write a song. You can use just your voice and a notebook. You can use piano and guitar. You can use the DAW and production tools.

  • Any pre-reqs? (e.g. theory, production, etc)

Our intention is to make this course accessible to anyone, regardless of their skillset. We might talk about some theory stuff and some production stuff as we go into it, but we will make sure to include resources when we do for those who aren't familiar with those concepts yet.

  • What if I can't join the Zoom workshops?

That's OK! We tried to pick a time that could work for the maximum number of people, but we know it won't always work for everyone. As such, we will record every workshop and share the recording around afterwards. Also, you're welcome to submit questions in advance.

  • Will the Zoom workshops be recorded?

    Yes.

  • I'm not sure... what should I do?

Two things: 1) Feel free to reach out to the course manager Ian Temple and [email protected]. He's happy to discuss your situation and whether this is right for you.

    2) If you sign up and realize within the first week that it's not the right fit, we will offer you a refund.

About Your Instructor
