Make better tracks, with guidance from Com Truise

Imagine a small, in-depth, graduate-level college seminar — but the teacher is celebrated electronic artist Com Truise.

Get deeply nerdy with warbling synths, retro-sounding drum machines, rich-sounding sound design and mixes, and glitched out arrangements. You'll experience weekly Zoom calls, projects, discussions, demos, and more.

The course begins the week of Jan 20, 2025, and ends Feb 21.

Make Tracks. Get Feedback. Meet People. Level Up.

Here are some of the things you can expect from the course, that goes from Jan 20 to Feb 21:

  • Go deep into Com Truise's methods in weekly workshops, lasting an hour and a half each.

  • Take on weekly projects and practice to grow your skills.

  • Join a supportive Discord community with your peers, coaches, and of course Com Truise himself.

  • Get weekly feedback on your music from peers, coaches, and Com Truise.

  • Ask questions to Com Truise directly about his process, his music, or his journey.

  • Get a certificate at the end to mark your progress.

  • Join weekly office hours to work through issues, chat through your projects, or listen to music.

What Students Are Saying

“Com Truise's Soundfly course not only taught me valuable sound design techniques from my favorite artist, it pushed me beyond making bits and pieces of things to committing to finishing full songs, and it connected me with other really cool people who were on the same musical journey. Absolutely worth it, would do it again.”

Josh Hanselman

“Everything I’ve done through soundfly has been great! This writing cohort was another terrific experience and I really enjoyed it. I learned a lot from everyone involved and it took the lessons I learned in the Com Truise online course to the next level. I enjoyed it so much I signed up for the next cohort within about an hour of it being announced!”

Chris Suttles

“The folks at Soundfly always do a great job of combining high quality educational resources with a supportive environment. The writing lab helped me gain a solid grasp of several production concepts that initially felt too abstract. Highly recommend this for anyone looking to deepen their practice.”

How It Works

This is a month-long, part-time course, requiring no more than a few hours a week. It starts Jan 20 and goes until Feb 21, with weekly projects and workshops.

  • Weekly Workshops

There are weekly workshops on Wednesdays, from 1 to 2:30 pm EST. They are recorded and shared in case you can't make it.

  • Weekly Projects

We've come up with detailed creative challenges to get you putting what you learn into action right away.

  • Ongoing Conversation

Our community Discord is highly active, where people share work, ask questions, share music, and more.

  • Weekly Office Hours

Join our end of the week project sessions, where you can get help from coaches or your peers — or just chat music stuff.

  • Weekly Feedback

You'll get feedback on your weekly projects, from your peers, coaches, and occasionally from Com Truise.

FAQ

  • What happens if I can't make a live workshop?

Not the end of the world! We will record them and share the recording afterwards. Plus, there will be plenty of discussion and follow up.

  • I work full-time. What's the expected time commitment?

This is a part-time course. The major commitment is your 1.5 hour weekly workshops. From there, you should expect to spend another couple hours a week working on projects, communicating with peers in Discord, and doing other assignments.

  • Can I pay in installments?

Yes! Select the 4 payments option when you check out.

  • I've already taken Com Truise's Soundfly course. Is this still worth it?

Yes. This lab is very different. It will go deeper. It will involve interaction with Com Truise directly. The weekly workshops will be entirely new. You'll be able to ask questions. We may reference the course sometimes, but it's all new territory.

  • Do I need to be a Soundfly subscriber?

No, but Soundfly members do get a discount. Email us at [email protected] to find out more.

  • What's the refund policy?

You can request a refund anytime before the first workshop, and you will get a full refund, no questions asked.
