Accomplish what you say you will.
Making music is social. And yet, these days so many of us make music on our own. No structure. No support. No idea if what you're doing is any good. No idea where to go from here.
We all need a little support & accountability sometimes. Maybe a little feedback & some fresh perspectives now and then. Perhaps most of all, community & connection with other musicians.
That's what this program is built on. Join a group of other musicians, pick a new musical goal each week, and then get support in reaching it. Pros, amateurs, and hobbyists welcome.
This program is perfect for composers, songwriters, or producers looking for a little push to write or complete new songs. It's a great way to workshop new stuff you're working on, get new ideas to implement, and make progress on your goals.
Stop making music in a vacuum. Refresh your process. Make great music.

Who is this for?
Sticking to your goals can be hard, especially when you're doing it alone. Join our group, and get advice, insights, recommendations, feedback, and accountability to go farther than you would alone.

Course Calendar
The accelerator starts the week of Sept 8 and wraps up on Oct 13.
If you can't make all the calls, that's OK! The goal here is to challenge yourself at whatever level that looks like for you. The DRAFT calls will be recorded and uploaded to the course after each one.
About Me
My name is Ian Temple, and I design educational experiences for musicians.
As a musician, I'm one-third of the trio Sontag Shogun, with whom I've released multiple albums and toured North America, Europe, and Asia multiple times. As a composer, I scored an award-winning film. I've played piano since I was a kid.
For the past 2 years I've been writing a weekly newsletter called Soundfly Weekly about the creative process, with almost 30,000 readers. I'm excited to share some of what I've learned with you.
If you have questions about the program, email me at ian (a) soundfly.com.

Soundfly Testimonials
“The folks at Soundfly always do a great job of combining high quality educational resources with a supportive environment. ”

“Everything I’ve done through soundfly has been great! ”

“I came for one course and stayed to take many others not only because of the quality of the courses but also because of the Soundfly community. It can be scary and daunting as an artist to know if you have made progress in your craft, and this community has become central to my practice. From getting feedback from experts to my peers, I am so grateful to have this incredible resource!”

FAQ
-
What is this?
DRAFT // ECHO is a five week accelerator for people who make music to make a lot of music and level up their art, with support from a host (me) and other musicians.
-
How does it work?
Each week, there will be a weekly theme to spark creativity, two Zoom calls (a DRAFT call on Tuesdays to get inspired, and a ECHO call on Fridays to share), a weekly project you commit to, and a Discord server where you can chat, get help, and share inspiration.
-
Is there a Soundfly member discount?
Of course! Always. Email [email protected] if you're a Soundfly subscriber, and you can get 25% off the price.
-
What if I can't make the calls?
You can definitely still participate. I'll share a recording of the DRAFT call each week, so you can check it out on your own time. The ECHO call will be more participatory so we won't record it, but if you miss that, you can still participate in the Discord or via email.
-
What's the refund policy?
I'm always happy to consider a refund request within the first week after the course has started, or in cases of unforeseen exigencies.
-
What will I learn?
This isn't so much a course, persay. It's more of an accelerator. I definitely hope to share some insights on the creative process that may help you, and I hope you'll also learn from your fellow musicians and from the act of making music — but we won't be teaching production or theory or anything like that.
