Nope! No previous knowledge is required. Although we may touch on technical aspects of performing live and will have an expert on hand to answer technical questions, that is not the focus of this course.
This course will cover things like:
- Developing a vision and concept,
- Experimenting with different setups and tools,
- Different ways to rehearse and prepare,
- How to approach promoting your shows,
- Managing self-doubt and fortifying yourself,
- Ways to actively re-frame doubt,
- Developing the arc and direction of your show,
- Preparing the creative direction for your show,
- Whatever else you and the community asks!
Zoom workshops happen on Wednesdays, from 1 to 2:30 pm EST. They will be recorded, and students can re-watch or download them afterwards if they miss it live.
Kimbra will be on the Zoom workshops, teaching and answering your questions, and she will chime in on Discord at least once a week to answer questions and comment on your stuff.
If you decide this course isn't right for you, you're welcome to request a refund right up until the course start date on February 10, 2025, and it will be honored in full. After the course begins, we're unable to provide refunds.
No.
For those who don't know, Kimbra has a go-at-your-own-pace video course on arranging, songwriting, and producing available at soundfly.com/kimbra. We may reference lessons occasionally, but you do not need to have taken that course prior to this one (although you're always welcome to check it out).
