Create a Memorable Live Show

International touring artist Kimbra has performed in massive arenas and intimate clubs, on her own and with bands, surrounded by complex technology and with only a microphone. Now, she wants to share some of what she's learned with you, so you can wow audiences wherever you go.

In this course, you'll do weekly Zoom workshops, take on projects to build your show, engage with the community and experts in our chat, ask questions, get support, and take concrete steps to move your live show forward.

Performing live is the testing ground of every skill you need as an artist.

When people ask me to give advice for young artists, I always say "play live." It's testing the ground for every skill you need as an artist: courage, improvising, working with others, facing your inner saboteur, world-building, and trusting something to move through you.

At the same time, touring can be so hard. No one ever talked me through those challenges before I started. There was so much I had to learn along the way through trial & error. I've played in huge stadiums and tiny backyards, with technically complicated setups and simple ones. I've faced massive disasters, epic victories, and countless surprises. I would love to help you kickstart or supercharge your own touring journey by sharing some of what I've learned along the way.

Join me for this month-long course, and we can talk through all the ins-and-outs of playing live — as we take the extremely vulnerable step of sharing our art with the world. There's so much on the road you can't control, but we'll focus on the things you can, and help you mentally prepare for anything that might come your way. I hope to see you there!

Kimbra's music spans genres, from experimental pop to soul and electronic. As a songwriter, producer, multi-instrumentalist, and adventurous performer, Kimbra has been touring the world consistently for the past 15 years — and shared the stage with the likes of Beck, Jacob Collier, Odesza, Robert Glasper, David Byrne and The Roots. She's performed in intimate clubs and major stadiums, including the O2 Arena, Coachella and other major festivals. In that time, she's also released five full length albums, including 2024's "Idols & Vices (Vol. 1)" and won two Grammy Awards for her chart-topping duet with Gotye "Somebody That I Used to Know." In 2021, she released her first online course "Kimbra: Vocal Creativity, Arranging, & Production" to teach students her approach to music making — a course still available now at soundfly.com/kimbra.
